This course is for
The Hebrew University, in collaboration with eTeacher, is offering its very first accredited Biblical Hebrew online courses to overseas students since January 2010. The course is offered to students with basic knowledge of Biblical Hebrew.Duration
In its academic format, students will be allowed to study 3 credit points at this level (Intermediate):
| One unit containing 30 academic lessons (55min. each) + oral exam will afford students three credit points. |
Course structure and goals
The emphasis during Level B classes is on reading the Hebrew Bible in its original language. As the semester progresses, students obtain a better grasp for the morphology of nouns and verbs, learn other syntactical structures and expand their vocabulary. In consequence, they significantly improve their ability to read the Hebrew Bible. The grammatical topics are taught within the framework of well-known Biblical stories. Upon acquiring these fundamentals, students will be well on their way to fluently reading prosaic texts. Classes meet once a week, and the students are expected to complete the homework that the instructor assigns after every meeting.

Academic Credit and Academic course requirements
In accordance with the University's academic requirements the program includes obligatory attendance, paper submissions and examinations and will award students 3 credit points. At the end of the course the Hebrew University will accredit its graduates with 3 credit points and will send each graduate a completion certificate with his/her course grades.
