Rochalle Eliyahu- Modern Hebrew teacher

A Few Words About Me

My name is Rocha'le Eliyahu and I live in a community village in the Ela valley, a pastoral rural area nestled between Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem. I am married and have 3 adorable kids. I'm very sociable and enjoy taking trips in Israel and abroad, as well as theater, cinema, opera and ballet. I have taught Hebrew as a foreign language since the great wave of immigration in 1989. I see it as a vocation. I am driven by the conviction that language is a communicative link between people and a crucial step in the absorption process. A language should be taught with love to ease the sense of alienation afflicting the new immigrant. I love teaching - the students most of all. It is an incredible experience to meet such a diversity of people and see how they discover and gradually command the Hebrew language.
