Hasidic Nigun ( Hebrew:ניגון חסידי) , meaning melody, is a new genre of Jewish vocal music. Often described as a mystical musical prayer, the Hasidic nigun is a fundamental part of all Ashkenazic culture and is "the pen of the soul."
Klezmer (Hebrew: כלי זמר) is a musical tradition of the Ashkenazic Jews of Eastern Europe. Klezmer music originated in the 'shtetl' (villages) and the ghettos of Eastern Europe, where itinerant Jewish troubadours, known as 'klezmorim', performed at joyful events ('simkhes'), particularly weddings, since the early middle age till the nazi and Stalinian prosecutions.
