An Acrostic (Hebrew:אַקְרוֹסְטִיכוֹן ) is a poemor composition, in which sets of letters spell out words or names or appear in a special order. In Hebrew liturgical poetry the lines often begin with successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet or includes them in some different order, or spell out the author's name.
