Who are the Cherubim?

כְּרוּב
The word appears 90 times in the bible.

In akkadian the word means to pray, to consecrate, bless
Angelic beings
Part human, part animal.
Usually used in the plural.

How do they look?
The guards of the garden of Eden
The living chariot of the theophanic God
Decorating the most holy place:

Made out of olive wood with gold. With 4 wings: two wings touching the ark and two wings touching the walls of the shrine.

With two faces, of a man and of a lion, facing in opposite directions. (In Ezekiel)
With a human body and hands and the feet of a calf with four faces, lion, ox, eagle, and man
With 4 wings:Two covered their bodies in modesty, two were extended upward.

The Seraphim seem to be similar creatures. With six wings using the extra two to fly on God's errands.
