I feel my teacher's goal is to assist me to understand and test my knowledge not see how good of a student I am, but to see where I lack understanding so she can help me to learn. I feel I am getting more than my money's worth! I am learning about an ancient language that has a wealth of history! I can look at the Bible from the perspective of the writer's culture...that brings about an understanding you might miss out on in an English translation. I love that I can read Hebrew, decode and translate, yet they made it so easy by the time you know it you are reading and translating the Bible.
I feel so scholarly and feel like I am an archeologist digging out new discoveries but instead of from the ground from ancient writings! A history and cultural lesson come forth from just learning the letters and grammar of Hebrew! You can't imagine how interesting a grammar lesson can be in a history-rich language like Hebrew!
